Anyone tried the software for either one? I need automatic shutdown integration for my home server. CyberPower software used to be meh last time I tried it. Does APC’s software play nicer with Windows Server or Linux?
APC has PowerChute which is pretty stable on Windows; they also offer some Linux support but setup can take more work. CyberPower ships PowerPanel — works well on Windows and has basic Linux tools. For servers I usually recommend testing the shutdown scripts in a lab before relying on them.
PowerPanel did the job for me on a Ubuntu server with apcupsd-like functionality. It wasn’t slick, but reliable enough.
