LiTime Group 27 Battery Banks: Check Matching Rules Before Expanding

The purchase date belongs on your checklist
Do not assume you can buy one LiTime Group 27 battery now and add any 100Ah battery next year. The Group 27 Smart manual requires matching batteries and a purchase interval within one month for series or parallel connections.
This is a document-based buying guide for the LiTime 12V 100Ah Group 27 Bluetooth model. We have not tested a battery bank. The question here is whether a proposed expansion matches the manufacturer’s conditions before you spend money.
What counts as a match?
The Group 27 Smart user manual, under “The Premise of Connection,” calls for identical batteries with the same amp-hour capacity and BMS current rating, from the same brand, purchased within one month of each other. A shared case size or a similar-looking product title does not establish that match.
That makes the invoice useful technical paperwork. Record the exact model and purchase date alongside the battery label. If an existing unit was bought several months ago, do not treat a new order as an approved extension simply because both labels say 12V and 100Ah. Ask LiTime to assess the actual pair and keep its written answer with your system records.
Identify the unit before comparing it
| Nominal voltage | 12.8V |
| Rated capacity | 100Ah |
| Nominal energy | 1,280Wh |
| BMS rating | 100A |
These manual values identify this model; they are not an AC runtime promise. For the distinction between capacity, power and marketing cycle claims, read our 12V 100Ah capacity and charging checks. A bank purchase should follow a measured energy need rather than a larger number on a product page.
Three purchasing situations to separate
Start with what you already own
- You are buying the whole set now
Order planning can account for identical models and purchase dates together. Keep every label and invoice, and have the intended system checked before installation. Buying together answers only the timing question; it does not settle the rest of the design.
Look forA consistent set of model and purchase records.AvoidAssuming a multi-pack makes every installation suitable. - You bought the first unit recently
Compare the actual dates with the manual’s one-month condition before ordering. Check that the proposed second unit is the identical model with the same capacity and BMS rating. Ask about any revised version or uncertain label.
Look forAn exact model match within the stated purchase interval.AvoidUsing Group 27 or 100Ah alone as proof of compatibility. - You want to expand an older bank
Pause the purchase and send the existing model, dates and proposed configuration to LiTime and your installer. Ask whether an approved expansion is possible or whether a separately designed replacement system makes more sense.
Look forA documented answer for the batteries you actually have.AvoidInventing an exception because the new battery is on sale.
Expansion limits are not an installation plan
The manual permits up to four units in series and four in parallel, with up to sixteen identical batteries in a combined arrangement. Those are manufacturer limits, not instructions to build the largest configuration. The selected system voltage, charging equipment and intended loads still have to fit the complete design.
Before buying, ask your installer to confirm protection, cable sizing, isolation, enclosure space and the charging arrangement for the proposed bank. Our battery-bank compatibility checklist provides a broader set of questions. This guide does not provide a wiring sequence or approve a connection to an RV, boat or building.
LiTime’s US store listed the 1 Pack Group 27 Bluetooth model as available. Its shipping policy covers the continental United States and excludes Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. No coupon or discount is recommended here. Confirm current stock, the exact model and delivery terms before ordering.
Check the label before adding another battery
The exact model discussed above. A purchase link does not confirm compatibility with an existing bank; resolve the matching and timing questions first.
Make the expansion decision before the purchase
If expanding later is central to your plan, the one-month purchase condition deserves attention now. Decide whether to buy a matched set for a documented need, retain your existing setup, or seek a manufacturer-approved alternative. Do not let an attractive sale decide a compatibility question.
Keep a simple record: model, capacity, BMS rating, purchase dates and the manufacturer’s response to any uncertainty. That record is more useful than a generic claim that lithium batteries are expandable, and it gives your installer something concrete to review.
