BougeRV 48W Heated Blanket: Budget Battery Energy for Three Hours

A 48W electric blanket has a much smaller electrical load than a room heater, but it still needs a battery budget. At its maximum listed power, three hours represents 144Wh at the blanket. That calculation does not tell you how warm you will feel, how long a particular battery will last, or whether its socket is compatible.
This guide uses the green BougeRV 12V blanket, US SKU HB002-AGTYAA, as a concrete example. It is an analysis of manufacturer specifications and hypothetical energy budgets, not a hands-on review. The single blanket and a blanket bundled with a battery are different purchases.

Turn watts into a session budget
Watts describe the rate of energy use. Watt-hours describe the total over time. For a deliberately conservative full-power arithmetic example, multiply the listed 48W maximum by the hours planned: one hour is 48Wh, two hours is 96Wh, and three hours is 144Wh. These numbers assume a continuous 48W draw; they are not measured consumption for a heat setting.
A controller may change the draw during use, and lower settings do not automatically correspond to a known fraction of 48W. BougeRV does not provide a measured watt-hour figure for each setting on the product specification table. Do not turn five heat levels into an invented five-step runtime chart. Measure an actual session with appropriate equipment if you need a better trip budget.
The BougeRV US specification page is the source for the electrical ratings above. Its watt rating concerns this personal heating product, not the ability to heat a tent, vehicle or room to a guaranteed temperature.
Allow for the rest of the battery system
Suppose, purely for planning, a battery has 250Wh of nameplate energy and you allocate 80% of that to usable output. The assumed allowance is 200Wh. A three-hour, continuous 48W session would account for 144Wh, leaving 56Wh under that assumption. Neither the 80% allowance nor the remaining energy is a tested result for a particular battery.
The calculation also needs every other load. If a hypothetical light uses 5W for three hours, add 15Wh. That would bring the planned total to 159Wh, before any losses or consumption not already covered by your allowance. Avoid counting the same loss twice: define whether your budget describes energy inside the battery or energy delivered at its output.
A matching watt rating alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm the exact blanket version, permitted supply voltage, connector and current requirements with BougeRV and the power-source manufacturer. Follow the instructions supplied with your product.
Check the DC connection before buying
The table lists 12V DC and up to 4A. A power station’s large AC inverter rating does not establish that its DC outlet is suitable. Read the output specification of the exact socket, including any shared limit with other devices, and confirm the cable and connector required by the blanket. Do not substitute an arbitrary AC adapter or assume that every port called “12V” has identical output characteristics.
For a broader view of electrical heating demand, our 2kWh battery and heater limitations guide explains why room heating is a different planning problem. Our power station energy-saving guide helps identify other loads to include in the same budget.
The current product page describes a timer, but a timer is not permission to leave a heating product unattended or use it while sleeping. This energy example does not recommend either practice. Check the instructions and restrictions for the exact unit before use; a protective feature is not a guarantee against misuse.

Buy the right version, without budgeting a discount
On October 21, 2026, the selected green single-blanket option was available to order from the US store. Its shipping policy excludes Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, military addresses and PO boxes. Confirm your own delivery eligibility and the included items; a photograph showing a battery does not mean every option includes one.
We checked the store promotion and promotional listing for this product category. No coupon savings are included in the budget: application to the current upgraded SKU and stacking with the displayed sale were not established, and no checkout redemption was tested. The card is maintained manually, so consult current store terms before purchasing.
For the battery decision, start with the planned hours, calculate the full-power energy allowance, add your other loads and keep a reserve appropriate to your trip. Then verify the connection separately. A smaller electrical load can make personal heating easier to budget, but it does not remove the need for correct equipment and careful use.
